Wunderlich S 1000 (2019-) Oil Cooler Guard

For an oil cooler to deliver its maximum cooling capacity, the airstream has to pass through it in the right direction. That is why it sits at the end of the fairing, just below the water radiator. This position has one big drawback, though: the oil cooler sits right behind the front wheel, in the middle of the area where dirt, stones and foreign objects are thrown up and strike the delicate fins of the oil cooler. Dirt and insects clog the cooler and reduce cooling performance, as do fins bent by stone impact. In the worst case sharp foreign objects can cause damage that leads to leaks. With a damaged cooler you cannot ride on, and contamination reduces cooling performance. We therefore recommend this guard for the oil cooler, consisting of a strong, fine-mesh stainless steel grille that prevents damage and catches larger dirt before it can affect the performance of the oil cooler.
