Road to Drachten
Later this year we'll be leaving our current Motorplaza location. We're moving to Drachten and opening the doors there under our new name: FME Moto.
A new name, a new location — the same passion for motorcycling and BMW Motorrad.
Following the acquisition of Motorplaza by Friese Motorexperts, it's time for the next step. Motorplaza — a familiar name in the motorcycle world — is winding down. But where one door closes, another opens. In Drachten we're building a larger showroom, a more modern workshop and a meeting place for everyone who loves riding. The people, the craftsmanship and the service stay the same. Only the building and the name will change. We also remain the only BMW Motorrad dealer in the north — only better!

HJ Motoren launches
After years working in the motorcycle world, Hendrik-Jan launches his sole proprietorship HJ Motoren. Small at the time, but always with quality in mind.

HJ Motoren becomes Friese Motorexperts
Almost five years in, the next step is taken: HJ Motoren moves into a new building in Menaam, where Hendrik-Jan launches Friese Motorexperts as a Kawasaki dealer.

Janke joins the company
Janke, Hendrik-Jan's wife, joins the company. They met through a shared passion for riding, and they take on this next motorcycle adventure together too.

Motorplaza acquired by Friese Motorexperts
Hendrik-Jan and Janke of Friese Motorexperts Menaam acquire Motorplaza Groningen. They bring along the hospitality, team spirit and drive to grow. The first plans for a move to Drachten are shared.

Announcing FME Moto
We unveil the new name: from 2027 we will become FME Moto. FME — Full Motor Experience — because we want to offer everything that makes your motorcycle heart beat faster. We're building the ultimate motorcycle experience.

New website launch
Fmemoto.com goes live! After weeks of building, testing and refining, the first phase of our website is up — with smart features like a personal customer portal, real-time maintenance status and automatic route uploads for the best tour rides. Everything to make life as a rider easier and more fun.

Welcome to FME Moto
If everything goes to plan, we'll move to Drachten at the end of this year and welcome you from January into our brand-new showroom — one that not only breathes BMW Motorrad but also lets you feel the Full Motor Experience like never before. For Kawasaki you remain welcome in Menaam.

Drachten sits centrally in the north of the Netherlands, at a crossroads of beautiful motorcycle roads and easily reachable from Friesland, Groningen and Drenthe. As the heart of our BMW Motorrad service area, it's the ideal place to keep building.
